hello i am trying to find a hotel called ban montua in kamala which is on phuket thailand?

hello i am trying to find a hotel called ban montua in kamala which is on phuket thailand?
i am 90% certain kamala is about 15 or 20 minutes north of patong on the west coast of phuket island and is a nice beach area from memory if it is the area i am thinking of is quiet and you would still be able to get into patong easy if you want more lively or shopping areas, as for the hotel i am sorry i do not know it !
hello i am trying to find a hotel called ban montua in kamala which is on phuket thailand?
My Thai is not great but I think "ban" means beach, which might help. Check out www.virtualtourist.com - search for "Phuket" in "destinations, then look through the hotels list or ask in the forums, it's an excellent place to get info about any holiday place you might want to go to.

Different places, for all the same holds true:
It is a great country with fabulous good hotels and beautiful places - but AVOID monsum.
Regarding food: Go as much native as you can. Avoid raw veggies, salads and fruits - as long as you can't peel them yourself. Prefer HOT tea or alcohol as drinks. Iced drinks are never a good suggestion, even in very good hotels.
Most people speak English, but the accent might need some getting used to.

Delhi is always great. Ask the concierge at the hotel to provide you with a guide to get the best tour. Be prepared to walk. Not all places are easily reachable by car and some of the castles/palaces cover lots of ground.

Mumbai is very interesting with the mixture of riches side by side.

Bangalore is one of the high tech centers. If you want to learn about outsourcing that is the city to go.
i live in chandigarh india
and thoroughly know about my country
any info on india ask me without hesitation as i follow the indian saying " athithi devo bhava "
which means guest is god so ask me

Have You visited Goa,India. Its Paradise on earth?

Goa is on the west coast of India. It was ruled by the portuguese so that is the reason alot of the people have a
European traditional style of cooking.Goa has white sand beaches and it is a good fishing destination
Have You visited Goa,India. Its Paradise on earth?
Yes I have visited Goa back in 2001. Had great fun. We checked in at one of the hotels and wasted no time. Rented a car for 700rupees and toured several resorts. The best was Leela with its superior architecture and beautiful landscaped gardens. Also when in goa, try the famous goan fish curry!! ITs simply delicious. Booze is so much cheaper there compared to other states, like kerala. Bars and parties are a stone-throw away from each other, and the prices are so cheap, compared to the FUN u get!! Definitely one of the best and cheap adventure I had.
Have You visited Goa,India. Its Paradise on earth?
Yes I have visited Goa. Goa is a well known tourist spot in India. It is one of the most favored tourist locations in India specially among the tourists from the west. It has got a lot of influence from the Portuguese. They ruled this territory until 1960's. It has lots of ancient churches and places of historical importance.
One of attraction is the cathedral of Bom Jesus. The body of St. Francis Xavier was preserved in this church until recently.

yes i have been there.i like the capital city bar kook,it is nice city for the business.
I love most of Thailand, from Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Mae Hong Song in the North to the beaches and islands of Koh Phi Phi, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan. to even Bangkok!
Yes I went to Bangkok and Phuket 2 weeks back during Songkrant. Shopping in Bangkok, Grand Palace and Temple of Emerald Bhudha were amazing. Traditional massage is a must. Must go to Phang na – Phuket on a canoe tour.

However, be careful with the taxi drivers and shopkeepers ! They are rude and impolite (for no reason). First I was stunned , didn’t know how to react. Then I started giving it back ! at the end of 7 days me and my hubby had enough arguments to head for home !
I've been to Thailand twice now,
    and everytime I go there,
I just really fall in love all
    over again with the country.
I went there this year during

Yes, many times. I love travelling around the country, visiting places all over and I plan to go in 2-3 months time. Oh, my girlfriend is Thai. :) I travel with her.

Yes and I think it is a great holiday destination.

The main highlight is the wildlife, especially the orangutan and the Proboscis Monkeys, both of which can be found on the East Coast of Sabah. The nearest airport is Sandakan (SDK). You have to travel via Kota Kinabalu (BKI) to get there.

Have Malaysians got any historical relationship with South Africa at all?

If the answer is yes, then what is the relationship?
Have Malaysians got any historical relationship with South Africa at all?
Yes The Dutch took many Malays to South Africa the later became classified as Cape Coloureds
The Cape Malay community is an ethnic group or community in South Africa, taking its name from what is now known as the Western Cape of South Africa and the Malay people who started this community in South Africa. The community's earliest members were slaves brought by the Dutch East India Company, followed shortly thereafter by political dissidents and Muslim religious leaders who opposed the Dutch presence in what is now Indonesia. Starting in 1654, these resistors were imprisoned or exiled in South Africa by the Dutch East India Company, which founded and used what is now Cape Town as a resupply station for ships traveling between Europe and Asia. They are the group that first introduced Islam to South Africa.

    have anyone been to cambodia?

    have anyone been to cambodia?
Yes, I've been there. I was in Vietnam when President Nixon gave the order to enter Cambodia in an effort to pursue NVA troops, who used that country as a staging area for attacks on American and South Vietnamese installations. The sector we entered, had already been abandoned.
A beautiful country, what I can remember of it.
    have anyone been to cambodia?
Great tourist destination now for the 'rugged minded'. You can see many beautiful things. I recommend it. You need to get used to poverty all around you. You will see countless beggars with missing limbs from land-mines, etc.

2 days is Phenom Pehn and 2 days in Siem Reap (Anchor Wat) is a good enough time if you want a good feel for it. They have regular flights between the two places.

Last April I stood on the cliff at Pah-ee-maw-daeng in Thailand and saw the beautiful dark green plain down below that is part of Cambodia. It looked so peaceful and the green extended to the horizon. I could also see the Khao-pra-vi-harn from afar, too, but the afternoon was way too hot for me to walk up from there. I wish I could really get into Cambodia the next time and visit the country.
apart from the casinos around poipet pretty safe. travel is a little hard but ok. Good info at passplanet

Has there ever been a year in which Asia did not receive a monsoon?

Has there ever been a year in which Asia did not receive a monsoon?
Not likely, especially in the tropical belt of Asia. There is always the monsoon as sure as the earth turns. So only time you do not get the monsoon is when the earth stops spinning.
Has there ever been a year in which Asia did not receive a monsoon?
A monsoon is a change in wind direction with the change of seasons.

Asia ia affected by the south-west monsoon from around May to October and by the north-west monsoon from November - April.

It would seem unlikely that the winds would never change direction. Mind you with global warming who knows!

has anyone out there traveled in viet nam recently?
I'm going in 3 days. I'll send you an answer when I get back. I went last March, too. I loved it. Great food, great people, nice bargain shopping.

Stayed in Saigon area (furthest I traveled was to the village of Cu Chi where the wartime Viet Cong tunnels are. Fascinating stuff although a little heavy on the anti-American propaganda).

I'll give you more details when I come back. This time I'm going up to Nha Trang on the seacoast. Supposed to be the coolest and lowest humidity destination in VN, plus beautiful white-sand beaches and clear/warm water.

    Later, dude.

Has anyone here experienced songran in Thailand?

Has anyone here experienced songran in Thailand?
I have been at Songkran 2 times in Bangkok. Expect to get water thrown on you in buckets by everyone (especially if you ride in Tuk Tuks). Don't take anything that can get damaged by water. They also have a muddy stuff they will rub on your hair and face if you walk by. People sell water for throwing on the street. Its ok for tourists to throw water back. If you ask around in bangkok there is a center of Songkran where a lot of the activity happens (I forget the naem but they will all direct you there) - but everywhere you will be a water target. It is fun for 1 day - after that you want to keep clear of the water. I think it generally lasts a week with one main day.
Has anyone here experienced songran in Thailand?
OH yes. I have expreienced the thai new year festival of Songkran in Chiang mai for the last 2 years. It is best described as the most fun you can have with your clothes on ;-).
Unfortunatly I will not be able to attend this years festivities.

Has anyone heard about the Tsumami in the Maldives? want to book holiday. Nothing I can find on internet helps
I am not sure a about Maldives, but I think that they got little damage from the tsunami, compared to Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Andaman & Nicobar Islands were wiped off the map when the tsunami occurred. Now the Island is trying to recover from the disaster in 2004.

Has anyone got any info on Santa Rosa, Laguna,Philippines?
Head to the Official website of Santa Rosa, Laguna, Philippines.

Has anyone got any info on Santa Rosa, Laguna,Philippines?
Sta. Rosa if I'm not mistaken is a city already. It's located in Laguna, which is a province south of Manila, the capital. From Manila, there's San Pedro, then there's Binan, then it's Sta. Rosa already. It's a booming city, growing by the day. More and more villages and subdivisions are being built, there are more commercial establishments being opened one after another, and there are a lot of factories there.

Sta. Rosa, Laguna is a place in Laguna. Then, Laguna is beside Tagaytay City in Batangas and the historical site of Cavite. There you can see Enchanted Kingdom, a big amusement park. In Laguna, you can buy buco pies, or in English, coconut pies. In Laguna, there is Laguna Lake. There is Walter Mart, almost beside Enchanted Kingdom. Do you have Philippine History class in school? We have a book about Philippine History.

Has anyone ever walked the entire length of the Great Wall of China?

Has anyone ever walked the entire length of the Great Wall of China?
The above answers are both correct and incorrect. It's true that the wall is broken in places, but it HAS been walked in its entirety.

When i lived in Shanghai i met a guy whose brother from South America (i think Chile, but can't remember) walked the wall.

He documented the entire trip with pictures. The journey began with him and 4 other friends, but he was alone for 9 months of the 15 month trip!

    Check it out: http://www.thegreatwalk.com/

So, yes, it has been done. But i would assume only once!
Has anyone ever walked the entire length of the Great Wall of China?
    its not possible
the wall has brooke down on several places
    its not possible
the wall has brooke down on several places
    Yes!
I imagine after it was built many people walked it from end to end, eventually. It was a marvel in its time and still is. After its started to deteriorate I doubt it. However in its over 1000 years of existence I am sure someone was walked the whole thing.
I visited the great wall last year. No one has ever walked the entire length of the Great Wall. The wall is not continuous. There are sections that go for a 100 miles, then just stop completely. Then start up hundreds of miles away again. Also, much of the wall is in total ruins. Even on 5 miles I walked on, there were times when the wall was so ruined that we had to climb down and walk along side it for a few hundred feet before it was ok to climb back on.

Has anyone ever been to, or flown over, Kingman Reef?

I've been researching a small choral reef in the North Pacific. I was wondering what time of day/year walkable surface might be exposed in the area. Also, what part of the reef is walkable. I'd also like to know where I could find more information on the reef. I've done my research primarily on Wikipedia and CIA factbook.

The eco system of the reef is very fragile so u should not walk but the walkable surface will appear on moonless nights in summer ie may - august

sure have. large mosly unihabited island off the coast of nha trang. during the war the us had a signal outfit stationed there . today there is a large upscale resort tucked in one of the many bays on the island. also a very small fishing village. the island is an irregular shape with many coves and bays, 2 or three small mts diveded by valleys. hon tre in vietnamese means "bamboo island".i spent so much time looking at it from the beach in nha trang that i consider it "an old friend"
Has anyone ever been to or heard of Hon Tre Island Viet Nam?
Hon Tre island is about seven minutes off the coast of Nha Trang by motorboat, 450km north of Ho Chi Minh City, and a two-hour drive from Da Lat in the Central Highland.
It is currently being developed into a tourist resort - and after it gets readied, perhaps I'll visit it !

which part of it? did u enjoy it ? was it fun ?. and where was ur favorite place?
has anyone ever been to Malaysia?
I'm from Malaysia and would'nt trade it for any country in the world. Do you like shopping? Well, you've come to the right place. With currency exchange in your favour, shopping is the best thing you can do here. Check out places like KLCC, One-Utama and Chinatown. The beaches and hotels here also world-class, try the island of Langkawi, Pulau Payar and Pulau Redang. And they say, in Malaysia we only have one meal a day.it starts early in the morning and ends late at Night! So, come and enjoy Malaysia.

Humen is a small town which produces big ideas. In particular it produces a distinctively southern style of brightly-coloured fashion garments for young women, and has made a name nationwide as a result. There are more than 1,000 clothing factories in the town, manufacturing over 100 million pieces under some 2,000 registered trademarks.

surely there was someone who did this brfore. But I do not suggest u do that simply because HK is in the south of China and Beijing is in the north.

I've been to the Philippines. My parents were born there. Do you need any tips?
Yes. I've only been there for about a week in Subic Bay on Luzon ( I was living in Taiwan, and took a quick trip) I am going back to spend about three weeks in a while. I've studied alot about all the islands lately but am eager to exlplore them more.
I have. But I don't really enjoy my time there. I'm always getting mosquito bites. In June I went there, and i got over 60 bug bites. How gross is that?!
    Hi-
sorry im not responding to your question but i wanted to ask you a question about your agressive dog. I asked the question about the agressive puppy. How old was this dog when it first showed signs of true aggression? We took our 8 week old puppy to the vet about his aggression and they said he will most likely need to be put down because it is very unusual for a young puppy to snarel and show their teeth and usually these puppies can not be changed. you can email me at Peardy33@aol.com. Thank you i apreciate it very much very much.
yep, a lot of us has been there. If you aint been there..go.you will not regret it.
i lived in for 15 years, miss it

Has anyone been to or lived in chengdu. I am interested in going. I speak some mandarin.?
Yea - I have - its in the Sichuan province. Send me a message if you want more info - but here's the basics.

Chengdu is the capital of the Sichuan province, pretty nice area - famous for its spicy food and women with really nice skin. In Chengdu - cabs start at 5 kuai as of August 2005. Speaking mandarin will be fine. I think Chengdu is probably one of the nicest Chinese cities. It also has a pretty nice nightlife - such as clubs and karaokes.

If you have a chance - definitely go.

And while you're in the Sichuan province, you should visit JiuZhaiGou - its really beautiful.

    yes, i have.

has anyone been to java, indonesia?

and what did you think of the people?
has anyone been to java, indonesia?
Me, me, me, I've been to java indonesia.

I think most the people are nice, plenty of smile although smile can means a lot of thing., rural folks are usually nicer than the urban dweller.if you can speak some of the local dilect, they will treat you even better, if you're planning to come to java, you should learn some of the local culture thing about the place u want to visit, so u will know the 'to-do' and 'not-to-do' stuffs cos' java is a multi-culture place with many different races living together. Some of thing u get used to may be impolite to others.
has anyone been to java, indonesia?
Yes!! I have lived and worked in much of Indonesia. Java would not be my choice for holiday. Bali, Lonbok or another of the southern islands are much better.
Yes!! I have lived and worked in much of Indonesia. Java would not be my choice for holiday. Bali, Lonbok or another of the southern islands are much better.
I think javanese are very very nice person..
They smile a lot and very friendly, especially to foreigners..
Their english is not very good because of their accents, but some of them could speak english because there are so many tourism object in java

Java is a nice place I bet!
It depends on what you mean by Jave. There are Jave Island and it includes: Jakarta, West Java (Bandung), East Java (surabaya), Middle Jave (Semarang).
The people are different from those location. they have their own accents, native language, and culture as well. However, they are mostly a nice and friendly people. If you go to jakarta, then many people will be able to communicate in english.
If you go to West Java, do not forget to go to outlet. They have lots of outlet stores and can get good stuff with low price. hope it helps. good luck.
    i want to

Has Anyone Been To JAPAN? Is It NICE? Is It EXPENSIVE?

Has Anyone Been To JAPAN? Is It NICE? Is It EXPENSIVE?
I live here right now as an English teacher. I also lived here two years ago for a year stint as an exchange student in University.

Everywhere I have been to in Japan is great, safe, and clean. Depending on where you live and what you do, the price can vary. I've lived in both Tokyo as well as a small town. Rent, commute, and entertainment costs in Tokyo are steep. In fact, they are the second most expensive in the world, coming after London. The small town I live in now is great, and working on a Teacher's salary I can save up to $1000 USD per month. The real money killer is going out drinking, where you will blow $40 in the blink of an eye.

I hope you have the chance to come here some day - you won't regret it, even for just a vacation!
Has Anyone Been To JAPAN? Is It NICE? Is It EXPENSIVE?
Japan is great and generally expensive.
Japan is great and generally expensive.
JAPAN is both NICE and EXPENSIVE. to answer your question in a subjective manner, if you know japanese and can read it you are one of those lucky lot. else its a little bit difficult, and esp the japanese see you as 'gaijin' who never follow their rules.. so its good and bad.. good coz its not necessary to follow all the rules the japanese follow, and yet not face any criticism from the japanese, bad coz you are a gaijin !

Its really expensive in tokyo, other places I dunnomuch
Yes, nice and expensive. I lived there, and it was most of the time nice and easy. And language is a problem; spoken English is not recognized by most of the Japanese population, as I know 2% of Japanese people could speak English, maybe many Japanese could read English and even write it well, but speaking it is another matter, but at the end you will find many Japanese are very helpful.

  • Has anybody travelled to Indonesia and what do you think?

Has anybody travelled to Indonesia and what do you think?
Well, the best place u need to visit first is Bali, paradise island as the local called it. I'll say the place live up to its reputation as one of the best to loose up yourself in the white sand and plenty of sunshine at the right price. People are friendly and helpful, most local can speak some English, some can speak fluently. You can check out Bali on the internet and whatever beautiful scenery you can found on the website is true! You can actually see it.

The next place you can visit is Jogjakarta, there is direct flight from Bali to Jogjakarta. You can find "Borobudur", one of the eight wonders of the world, again, check out the website, they can better describe the place than I am. There are also quite a few natural theme resorts around the areas which can offer a lot of fun and discovery.

If you are adventure or surfer, Indonesia sure a place for you too, mountains, forests, beaches, name it and you got it.

My advice is don't visit the major cities such as jakarta, crowded, traffic jam, high crime and expensive.

    That's about it, enjoy.
Has anybody travelled to Indonesia and what do you think?
i have been to indonesia lots of times and i love it there! the people there are polite and friendly.. The roadside foods are superb!

I am planning a 7 day vacation at the Casa del Mar golf and diving resort late June. Has the area have a lot to offer for night life activities?
Has anybody been to San Remingo, Cebu? What is there to do there?
Not really cause it's a province and it's like 3 hours away from the city so if you're thinking of bars or parties galore then you can forget about it. Plus summer is over so the resorts in the city and province will look like ghost towns. Summer months in the Phils are April and May.

I'm pretty sure doctors in a good hospital there will know how to speak english. Not EVERYONE speaks Korean yunno. But anyways, I took the liberty of finding the two important words you'll need to know just in case.

    Push = ??
    Baby = ??
    Slap baby on butt = ?????? ?? ?? ??

Hehe, now all you need is a Korean on TAnswer.com to tell you how to 'say' those.

The doctors have generally all studied in the United States, and finding one that speaks English will not be difficult. I have answered this question more completely on another thread of yours. The best of luck to you.
Medical facilites are as good as those in US, many Korean doctors were trained in the US. So, I'm sure the majority of the doctors can communicate reasonably well in English.
If ur movin to korea like tomorrow or right now, u wouldn't really want to. There's yellow dust right now. It'll clear though.

i am 90% certain kamala is about 15 or 20 minutes north of patong on the west coast of phuket island and is a nice beach area from memory if it is the area i am thinking of is quiet and you would still be able to get into patong easy if you want more lively or shopping areas, as for the hotel i am sorry i do not know it !

Yes and I think it is a great holiday destination.

The main highlight is the wildlife, especially the orangutan and the Proboscis Monkeys, both of which can be found on the East Coast of Sabah. The nearest airport is Sandakan (SDK). You have to travel via Kota Kinabalu (BKI) to get there.

Mind you with global warming who knows!

has anyone tried flying with cheaptrips.com?
How is it too good to be true?? They are usually fairly high there. Try looking at www.BT-Store.com, which is almost always the lowest. But for my money i like Philippine Airlines bcs they fly direct from LAX.

has anyone out there traveled in viet nam recently?

Head to the Official website of Santa Rosa, Laguna, Philippines.

    http://starosa-laguna.gov.ph/index2.htm

Has anyone ever been to or heard of Hon Tre Island Viet Nam?
sure have. large mosly unihabited island off the coast of nha trang. during the war the us had a signal outfit stationed there . today there is a large upscale resort tucked in one of the many bays on the island. also a very small fishing village. the island is an irregular shape with many coves and bays, 2 or three small mts diveded by valleys. hon tre in vietnamese means "bamboo island".i spent so much time looking at it from the beach in nha trang that i consider it "an old friend"
Has anyone ever been to or heard of Hon Tre Island Viet Nam?
Hon Tre island is about seven minutes off the coast of Nha Trang by motorboat, 450km north of Ho Chi Minh City, and a two-hour drive from Da Lat in the Central Highland.
It is currently being developed into a tourist resort - and after it gets readied, perhaps I'll visit it !

has anyone ever been to Malaysia?
I'm from Malaysia and would'nt trade it for any country in the world. Do you like shopping? Well, you've come to the right place. With currency exchange in your favour, shopping is the best thing you can do here. Check out places like KLCC, One-Utama and Chinatown. The beaches and hotels here also world-class, try the island of Langkawi, Pulau Payar and Pulau Redang. And they say, in Malaysia we only have one meal a day.it starts early in the morning and ends late at Night! So, come and enjoy Malaysia.

And while you're in the Sichuan province, you should visit JiuZhaiGou - its really beautiful.

has anyone been to java, indonesia?

and what did you think of the people?
has anyone been to java, indonesia?

They have lots of outlet stores and can get good stuff with low price. hope it helps. good luck.

Has anybody been to San Remingo, Cebu? What is there to do there?

I am planning a 7 day vacation at the Casa del Mar golf and diving resort late June. Has the area have a lot to offer for night life activities?
Has anybody been to San Remingo, Cebu? What is there to do there?
Not really cause it's a province and it's like 3 hours away from the city so if you're thinking of bars or parties galore then you can forget about it. Plus summer is over so the resorts in the city and province will look like ghost towns. Summer months in the Phils are April and May.

Has any Americans had good or bad experiences giving birth in Korea? I want to know what to expect overseas.?

Iam 5 months pregnant and getting ready to move to Korea to live with my husband. Neither of us speaks Korean, and this is our first child. I am nervous about what will happen in the delivery room if I can't understand the language. Has anyone experienced this?

I'm pretty sure doctors in a good hospital there will know how to speak english. Not EVERYONE speaks Korean yunno. But anyways, I took the liberty of finding the two important words you'll need to know just in case.

    Push = ??
    Baby = ??

Now the Island is trying to recover from the disaster in 2004.

has anyone heard about the monks in bangkok that look after tigers and you can go there to visit?
Yes. Very impressive, specially the way they walk around with them and even beat them lightly with a stick to control them when they misbehave with one another.
